Management TeamJeff Sumner, PresidentJeff started TechGuides, Inc. in 1999 after being a partner in a California-based computer support company for six years. Jeff uses his 13+ years as a consultant to make sure TechGuides clients receive the best technology advice and support available. Jeff is a past board member of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Board and has been featured in The Eastern Technology Council’s Technology Times. With the company based in Swarthmore, Jeff is very active in community affairs and is a board member of the Rotary Club of Swarthmore. Jeff received his degree in English and American Literature from Brown University. George Sandford, Director of Technical ServicesA graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, George Sandford joined the company in 1999 after a career in the nightclub and foodservice industries. His responsibilities include managing client technology initiatives, examining and researching new technologies, and keeping abreast of changes in the industry. George has been working with computers for more than twenty years, and still has his original TI 994a and Atari 800xl systems. Today, George is a Microsoft Certified Professional and is an A+ certified technician. In addition to his love of technology, George is an avid amateur chef, an active writer, and studies traditional Chinese martial arts. Brian Martz, Director of Client ServicesBrian Martz is responsible for client project management and developing relationships with new clients and maintaining relationships with existing clients. Brian is also an Apple Help Desk Certified Specialist (AHDCS). Prior to TechGuides, Brian was Director of Business Development for HireKnowledge, a technology-based position placement firm with a national presence. Brian received two degrees – a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.S. in Marketing – from Gannon University in 1996. While at Gannon, he was a 4-year letterman on the wrestling team and stays involved in the sport today by coaching the Phoenixville Youth team. Larry Ehmer, Vice President of OperationsLarry Ehmer has spent over 20 years in the technology industry. He received his B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from Swarthmore College and his M.B.A. from Villanova. Larry’s experience has taken him through software development, database administration, corporate IT & telecommunications management and emerging technologies consulting. Larry has had several articles published in technology magazines and has been a featured speaker at international conferences on topics ranging from Voice Over IP to Stress Reduction. Larry is Chairman of the Board of the Red Cross Blood Services in Pennsylvania & New Jersey, and is a member of the Chester Boys and Girls Club. Larry was also a collegiate cross-country and track & field coach producing several conference champions and 2 nationally ranked teams. |
